Steel detection

With high accuracy and high repeatability, the sensor detects the slag/steel interface thus permitting temperature/oxygen measurements and sampling at the same depth every time the regardless of steel level variations. Sensitivity is set to trigger only when the sensor reaches steel bath level and is not affected by metal particles in the slag.

Our method of positioning the lances in the melt, are not dependent on any pre-programmed value, calculation or visual judgement of the bath level. Sampling and measuring are always carried out automatically at the same depth below the slag/steel interface, regardless of the steel level or the thickness of the slag. This always assures a good sample and temperature/oxygen activity readout within a short time and with a high degree of safety. Since the samples are always taken at the same depth in the steel bath, a completely representative and comparative analysis of the steel composition will be obtained.
