Bath level measurement
The bath level can be measured with high accuracy using our sensor-equipped temperature lance. The hardware and software is upgraded and for maximum accuracy and repeatability, splash free temperature probes are recommended. Beside the bath level, a normal readout of the temperature is obtained.
Operating principle
The temperature lance with the splash-free temperature probe starts to go down. The computer starts to count the travelled distance when the steel sensor passes the reference point from which the bath level should be measured (top of the ladle, floor etc.)
When the steel sensor passes the slag/metal interface, the sensor reacts and stops counting pulses. The computer can immediately calculate the bath level and present it for the process system. Repetitive accuracy 10mm or better.
